This report analyzes anti-Gypsyism in the former Czechoslovakia and the Czech Republic, tracing its roots from the 19th century to the present day. It examines recent efforts to make anti-Gypsyism socially unacceptable and to integrate its historical context into the educational and institutional framework of the Czech Republic. The author is Gwendolyn Albert, an independent consultant and researcher focusing on human rights issues, particularly the history, rights, and inclusion of Roma in the Czech Republic and beyond. The report was produced as part of the Jekhipe project, funded by the European Union.

This research report offers a unique perspective on the status of Romani women in the Czech Republic, focusing on their educational, professional, and life experiences. It addresses persistent stereotypes about Romani women and, through data collected from 600 Romani women across 23 cities, highlights their true needs, attitudes, and ambitions. The research was initiated by Romani women from the Manushe group, who were involved in both its preparation and implementation. The expert analysis of the results was conducted by a team from the Faculty of Humanities at Charles University.

This research report was produced in collaboration with a research team from Charles University, the organization Slovo 21, and the UNHCR Office in the Czech Republic. It focuses on the changing situation of Ukrainian refugees more than two years after the Russian invasion, particularly in the areas of employment, integration, Czech language proficiency, and future plans.

Unique research conducted as part of the "Speak Up" project, funded by the European Union under the ESF+ program, maps the experiences of Romani women with domestic violence. The survey was carried out between March and September 2024 and involved 500 Romani women from 19 cities across the Czech Republic. The results show that nearly one in three Romani women has personal experience with domestic violence.
