The International Rescue Committee (IRC) is a global non-profit organization providing humanitarian and development aid. Founded in 1933 at the initiative of Albert Einstein, it was originally called the International Relief Association. It provides immediate and long-term assistance worldwide to refugees and anyone forced to relocate due to war, persecution, or natural disasters.

The non-governmental non-profit organization Slovo 21, which has long supported Roma, foreigners, refugees, and asylum seekers, launched the Refugee Info Czechia project on December 15, 2022, in collaboration with the IRC.

We understand your concerns

Slovo 21 is well aware of the many questions and problems facing most refugees living in the Czech Republic. That is why we conducted a special online and offline survey among them, reaching nearly 600 people. Based on the survey results, which helped clarify the needs of refugees, we created a list of all non-profit organizations and integration centers operating in the Czech Republic that provide free assistance to Ukrainian refugees and marked them on an interactive map on our website.

How can you find help? Who should you turn to?

We set out to create the simplest possible interactive platform for Ukrainian and Roma refugees from Ukraine residing in the Czech Republic. Using the interactive map and its features, everyone can find out who to contact, where, and when to resolve everyday problems.

On the czechia.refugee.info website, you will find an interactive map of services and articles with comprehensive information on legal residence in the Czech Republic, finding a job, starting a business, education for you and your children, resolving legal and social issues, medical care, and a range of other services provided through free counseling to help you easily adapt to life in a new country.

We will help you regain the stability you have lost.

The Refugee Info Czechia project website is available in Ukrainian, Czech, English, and Russian.

The project website is linked to Telegram, TikTok, Instagram, and Facebook.

How can I get advice outside of the web portal?

We launched the web portal as a tool to significantly simplify the provision of aid to Ukrainian refugees and Roma from Ukraine. We based it on the vast number of inquiries that Slovo 21 staff have received and processed since the end of February 2022 as part of the Refugee Info Czechia project. Since December 2022, our staff have been providing information support, direct consultations, and operating through our call center and social media. During this period, nearly 10,000 users have visited our site, and more than 3,000 people have requested assistance. The number of views of our counseling and information materials on TikTok has exceeded 500,000.

Slovo 21 staff are always available to provide help online. You can leave comments on social media or send a direct message and receive a response shortly. If you need qualified legal assistance, we will refer you to partner organizations that provide free advice.

You can also contact our staff through our call center, which operates on weekdays after 5:00 PM and on weekends.

Our mobile team also organizes offline meetings and information seminars in all regions of the Czech Republic.

A separate area of the project is audio-based assistance for Ukrainian Roma who have left Ukraine due to the conflict in their homeland but, for objective reasons, cannot use text-based formats or direct counseling.

Our online resources are always at your disposal.
