In February, the project aimed at strengthening the competencies of OAMP staff and other public administration, local government, and institutional employees focused primarily on preparing methodological materials and implementing new insights from our previous project, "Strengthening Intercultural Competencies," which we carried out in recent years.

In addition to this work on professional materials, we have entered into negotiations with individual state institutions that have expressed interest in our project and wish to train their staff on the topic. There is significant interest, which we are naturally very pleased about. Specific dates will be announced in the coming months.

Our project was originally aimed at civil servants and security personnel, who improved their existing communication skills and acquired new ones through courses and intercultural workshops. They now use these skills in their work when communicating with foreign nationals from third countries.

The current project is intended primarily for staff of the Department for Asylum and Migration Policy, a unit of the Ministry of the Interior. During this project period, we will work with our expert team to update the methodological materials we created for the introductory and follow-up courses.

Each training session will last two days and will mostly take place on neutral ground. The program will not focus solely on dry information and theoretical lectures about third-country nationals living in the Czech Republic; it also focuses on interactive psychosocial activities that engage emotions and have the potential to influence participants' attitudes.

Through experiential, interactive activities, training participants are placed in a position that a foreign national would encounter in everyday practice (role reversal). Experience from conducting such training shows that experiential activities connected to the perspective of the other party have a significant effect.

In the long term, this activity contributes to creating a more objective image of foreign nationals and facilitates easier communication between them and the target group.
