Together with our European partners, we have submitted a proposal for a new project

In response to a call for proposals, the Polish municipality of Aleksandrów Łódzki, together with more than ten European partners, has prepared a Network of Towns project proposal (CERV-2024-CITIZENS-TOWN-NT) aimed at creating a platform to support innovative approaches to legislation. The CERV program promotes citizens' rights, EU values, civic participation, and the rule of law. The project proposal is currently under evaluation, and if approved, the Khamoro festival will be part of it.  

Sound of Diversity represents an extensive network of towns whose main vision is to strengthen the role of local authorities in promoting diversity, anti-discrimination, and the inclusion of minorities. The primary goal is to connect regions that host large-scale events, such as the Khamoro Festival in Prague (CZ), the Jewish Film Festival in Zagreb (HR), the Festival of Games in Óbidos (PT), the Festival of Various Arts in Aleksandrów Łódzki and the Summer Dying Loud Festival (PL), the Barlad Cultural Days (RO), the Greek Dance Fest in Kileler (GR), the Multitude Festival in the Seine-Saint-Denis department (FR), and the Folk Festivals in Molfetta (IT).

During each of these long-established events, an open-air Sound of Diversity Stage will be organized, serving as an open platform for discussions on diversity and anti-discrimination policy. Local residents, activists, youth, minority representatives, and experts will have the opportunity to address topics related to diversity management, anti-discrimination measures, inclusion, and the EU's vision in this area.

The Sound of Diversity Stage will introduce new formats and transnational topics relevant to EU policy, allowing local political agendas to be addressed from a renewed perspective that incorporates a transnational dimension, an inclusive approach, a mainstream intersectional anti-discrimination approach, and gender equality. This will enable people to engage with local politics from a fresh perspective that embraces challenges. The project's outcomes will include, among other things, the creation of a practical handbook on diversity, inclusion, and belonging, which will serve as a roadmap for improving the situation in these partner towns.
