Dža dureder 2021 Press Release
10/2/2022

A total of 100 primary school students from grades 1 to 9 in the Moravian-Silesian, Ústí nad Labem, Pardubice, and Plzeň regions, as well as Prague, participated in the Dža dureder 2021 project (meaning "keep going" in English). The project has been implemented for years by the non-profit organization Slovo 21, z.s.
As part of the project, we help children from disadvantaged backgrounds through tutoring, counseling, and courses designed to help them successfully pass secondary school entrance exams.
Despite the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic, which affected every area of life, we managed to conduct 47 courses and provide students with both individual and group tutoring.
Preparation for entrance exams took place during the second half of the 2020/2021 school year. Out of five applicants, four were accepted based on their successful entrance exam results, which we consider a success given the difficult pandemic situation.
Tutoring for students in other grades took place during the second half of the 2020/2021 school year and the first half of the 2021/2022 school year.
The project also provides material support to students from socially disadvantaged families by purchasing learning aids and study materials. During this project period, we primarily purchased art supplies. In addition, in 2021, we provided technical equipment for 30 students, which also enabled online tutoring.
The project was supported by the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports grant program for the support of Roma minority integration in 2021.
