Romani People
Capacity building for Slovo 21
We are committed to continuous improvement—in project management, fundraising, and PR. Our new project has a simple goal: to further strengthen the professional expertise of our staff through a variety of training sessions and workshops, ensuring their work is as effective as possible. In addition to staff training, we will also focus on developing the Slovo 21 brand.
What exactly is capacity building?
It is a process in which an organization consistently works to improve staff skills and strengthen resources to better achieve its goals. In our case, this means more effectively helping the Roma minority integrate into mainstream society.
Why do we need capacity building?
We want to keep getting better. We are striving to make our organization more attractive to commercial partners and private donors who could provide financial support. Currently, we are too dependent on subsidies and grants (over 95% of our projects), which can threaten our stability and our ability to create new programs for the Roma community.
